Transportation Clerk


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – Monday through Friday 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexibility to the needs of the Department.
 
 
Qualifications – High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience with Excel, Word, Microsoft Office. Valid Driver’s License required.  
                
 
Relevant Certifications –Obtain 19-A Record Keeper Certification within 6 Months of Employment.
 
 
Work Authorization/Security Clearance – Authorized to work in the United States and pass all background clearances.
 
 
Summary/Objective – Clerical support for Public Transit and Fixed Route Transportation.  
 
 
Essential Functions – Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Maintain filing system for Transportation Department.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on vehicles, related equipment, such as: NYS DOT, NYS DMV, State Transportation Operations Assistance daily working in coordination with County Planning Office.
Work in coordination with partners such as Volunteer Transportation Center and the Mobility Manager on programs such as First Mile Last Mile to enhance ridership on SLC Public Transportation.
Maintain work order system and order/process purchases by entering details through online systems and obtaining appropriate approvals.
Process confidential matters with the leadership team based upon feedback from customer and driver complaints and concerns.
Assist with daily driver scheduling and routing vehicles, substituting as needed based on absences or buses needed to repairs acting quickly when last minute issues occur.
Act as front line, customer service representatives for riders for route direction and problem-solving questions/concerns.  
Monitor monthly mileage reports for all agency vehicles.
Ability to utilize office technology and have a working knowledge of computer programs such as: Microsoft, Passio, Fleetio, GPS systems, and Excel.
Perform as a professional and positive team member interacting and providing support to customers, vendors, partners, staff members and programs.
Adheres to Agency Policy and procedure guidelines; adheres to the Agency Code of Conduct; and will assist in facilitating a safe working environment by working safely at all times, adhering to Agency safety guidelines and reporting potential health and safety issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
As needed, will be support transportation routes as a driver.
